Notes
LGz. 544 derives Geez ṣ from s by assimilation to the glottalized ṭ and finds the same in Arabic ṣaʿaṭa: Lane 1690 gives ṣaʿaṭa as a dialectal variant of saʿaṭa 'pour medicine into the nose', Lane 1364 ṣaʿūṭ beside saʿūṭ 'errhine', which ISd takes as assimilation (as ṣirāṭ for sirāṭ), and BK 1 1339 refers ṣʿṭ to sʿṭ.
