Notes
HALOT 741 and LGz. 490 take Arabic sajada and Geez sagada as loans from Aramaic sgd (Schwally, ZDMG 52, 134; Nöldeke 1910, 36), and Hebrew sāgaḏ 'to bow down in prayer' (Is 44:15, 17, 19; 46:6; HALOT 742) as an Aramaism (Wagner 85 no. 195). Tigrinya sägädä, Tigre sägda, Amharic säggädä, Harari sägäda and Gurage sägädä continue the Geez loan (LGz. 490).
