Notes

Kaufman 1974, 105–106 lists Common Aramaic and Middle Hebrew tḥwm, Mandaic and Arb. taḫūm: the Akkadian is chiefly Assyrian, from Middle Assyrian on, and Arabic ḫ shows the word was not borrowed through Aramaic; Kaufman finds little reason for an Akkadian origin.
