Notes

HALOT 263 joins Hebrew zᵉbul to Ug. zbl 'prince, princedom' and zbl ym 'prince of the sea'. HALOT 263 also gives a Hebrew verb zbl 'to raise', compared with Akk. zabālu 'to carry', which is 2827 *sVbVl-; DULAT 982 zbl (III) 'invalid' is from the same Akkadian verb.
