Commentary

ZA 10b .4 A-DE 4, whole, between SA-MA 5 and A-MI-TA ʾamita ‘handmaid’ 3, in a list that also counts U-*49 ʾummi ‘mother’ 6 (GORILA III 171). ʾAddē, Ugaritic ʾady, syll. a-da-a-a (DULAT 23): hypocoristic -ay contracted to -ē, the geminate unwritten. Rival: the kin title ʾad ‘father’ (DULAT 16), as U-*49 is ‘mother’ in the same list. One witness.
