Commentary
KH 5: A-DA-KI-SI-KA · A-RA-U-DA · over WI-SA-SA-NE CYP+E 2, VINb+WI 2, then WI-NA-DU · *301-NA ·, KU-PA-ZU CYP 3. Hogan reads the tablet as one transfer of CYP+E and VINb+WI to several entities, A-RA-U-DA among them (Hogan, in Salgarella and Petrakis, The Wor(l)ds of Linear A, 81): an entity slot, which a place fills. RA-U writes /raw/, as A-I writes /ay/: all four consonants ʾ-r-w-d stand in order, and SigLA reads U (AB10), not AU. Late Bronze Ugarit writes the gentilic {iri}a-ru-a-di-yu (RS 19.0042) with the same u for w. Rival: the personal name ʾArōd (Num 26:17). One attestation.
