Commentary

HT 11a .1 A-RU-RA, whole: the mark after RA is the fracture edge of the broken corner, and RU is written over an erasure (GORILA I 23). It heads A-RU-RA ]3, KA-RO-NA 2, *322-RI 1, KU-RO 10. Ugaritic ảrr is the town ʾArruwa on the border with Siyannu, URU ar-ru-wa, whose soldiers head a list, spr ḫrd ảrr ‘list of the soldiers of ʾArr’ (KTU 4.683:1; DULAT 102). {uru}a-ru-ra spells the name sign for sign in Assurnasirpal II’s annals (RGTC 7/3, citing RIMA 2 101.1 i 47). One witness.
