Commentary

HT 28a .5 A-RU-DA-RA GRA 5 *304 2, whole and undotted, at the head of the line, then OLE+DI 3: a recipient in the A-SI-JA-KA list with JA-*21F, SA-RA₂ and I-TA-JA (GORILA I 53). Hurrian Arum-atal, ar=o=m-adal ‘The strong gave him’, attested whole: a-rum-a-tal at Mari (VHN 73, apud Monti 2017, 228), a-rum-a-dal at Ašnakkum (Talon 1997, 123, apud Monti 2017, 363), a-ru-um-ma-tal on the Ḫabiru Prism (Monti 2017, 425). Cuneiform a-rum-a- closes arum with its m, which Linear A leaves unwritten as a coda; DA-RA -adal with its a absorbed and RA for the final l, as in KU-KU-DA-RA. Weak point: the m stands before a vowel in speech, and the Ḫabiru Prism writes it. One witness. Cf. A-RU.
