Commentary
HT 115a .4 A-SE-JA with four fraction signs, whole and undotted, among the names of a palimpsest list under *47-NU-RA-JA and GRA+BOSm (GORILA I 189), between PA-RA-NE and KA-PO-RU. Asīya ‘my physician’, the short form of the Euphrates name ì-lí-a-si-ia ‘my god is my physician’ (GlOS 1, 47), from A-SE ʾāsē. The name is written a-sí-ia, sign for sign: a woman of the Mari palace (Ziegler 1999, 262), and men at early Old Babylonian Kiš and Dilbat (de Boer 2014, 398, 410). Rivals: the Nuzi name Aziya, A-zi-ia (Gelb, Purves, and MacRae 1943, 41); the Ugaritic name ủsy (DULAT 111). One attestation.
