Commentary

KH 20 .1 A-SI-KI-RA · CYP+E ⅓, an entry before cyperus, parallel to ]DU-RE-ZA · CYP+E ½ (GORILA III 51). The article ha- (A, h unwritten, as in A-TU-RI-SI-TI) + SI-KI-RA Śikira ‘Hired’ (HT 8a), the pair of A-KI-DA-RO beside KI-DA-RO; Hebrew names take the article, haq-Qôṣ (1 Chr 24:10). Rival: haśkira ‘he rewarded’, an H-stem of the same root, and the Amorite DN ʾAškur (Gelb nos. 947, 950). One witness.
