Commentary

KN Zc 6 register .2, after QI-TI-RI ‘my incense’ and A-DI ‘until’: incense ground fine, the Hebrew qəṭōret … daqqâ (Lev 16:12), Ug. dqt ‘small, tiny, fine’ (DULAT 276). Written as one unit with PA-KU ‘flask’ (DA-KI-TI-PA-KU, closed by a divider before NI-JA-NU). QI-TI-RI is masculine, so DA-KI-TI is a noun ‘fine powder’. Rival: genitive of the divine name, ‘of Daqqatu’ (Ugaritic dqt, DN ‘the Little One’, DULAT 276), cf. JA-DI-KI-TU and A-DI-KI-TE-TE. Younger reads A-DI-DA-KI-TI-PA-KU as a muddled A-DI-KI-TE (Younger, Linear A Texts, Other Texts: Knossos). Cf. SKO Zc 2 ]DE-KI-TI[ (Skoteino cave, a painted vessel), broken on both sides.
