Ili-ittia (HALOT 102, 44): Ittai the Gittite, who marches with the Cherethites and Pelethites (2 Sam 15:18–19), and Ittai the Benjaminite (2 Sam 23:29). Rival: Noth’s ‘El exists’ (HALOT 44). Linear B i-ta-ja is a woman’s name at Knossos (KN Ap 769.2): the name outlives Linear A on Crete, which fixes the name but not its language. Two consonants, one attestation.
