Commentary
HT 25b WI-TE-RO 𐄁 I-TI VIR 28 / VIR 24 / KU-RO 52: I-TI stands before the first of two personnel entries, 28 and 24 making the 52, as Akkadian ledgers write itti ‘with, including’ before an included subgroup. IO Za 12 ]𐄁 ]𐄁 JA-SA-SA-RA-ME 𐄁 I-TI[, set off from the formula word by a divider and broken after: bare ʾitt- ‘with’, its complement lost, or ʾittī ‘with me’ (Heb. ʾittī), a predication of the ʿimmānû-ʾēl type. PS *ʾin-t- ‘with, at, via’, the extended form of *ʾin (Huehnergard 2019, §3.6): *ʾinti > ʾitti, the assimilated n and the geminate unwritten, the glottal onset on the bare vowel sign. Ugaritic prefers ʿm ‘with’; ʾitt- stands with Akkadian and Canaanite, a Proto-Semitic retention. Rival on HT 25b: a personal name, in the name–VIR–number layout of the rosters.
