Commentary
HT Wc 3003, a roundel (HM 77), KA-RE-RO alone, all three signs whole and undotted, no ideogram (GORILA II 72). Nuzi Qa-ri-ru, Ka-ri-ru(m), Qa-ri-ri, at least six men (NPN 80); Gelb gives root qrr, cf. Qar-ru-ru (NPN 322), Purves a Hurrian kar- (NPN 223). Sign for sign, RE for ri. A word alone on a roundel as ZU-DI-RA on HT Wc 3011 and PA-SE-JA on HT Wc 3002. Rival: *ka/irr- ‘ram’ (#2220; Ug. kr, DULAT 449), the roundel’s commodity, with the r written twice. One witness.
