Commentary

ZA 8 MA-KA-I-SE 2, in a roster of names with quantities (KU-TU-KO-RE, A-RI-NI-TA, TA-I-NU-MA-PA, DA-I-PI-TA, KA-I-RO). SE is the Zakros suffix of RU-MA-TA-SE beside bare RU-MA-TA; MA-KA-I is the base of MA-KA-I-TA (PK 1, ZA 5b). Makī, the Amorite name me-ki-im maqīm ‘Established’ (Gelb 1980, nos. 4648–4649; Buck 2019, 307), the final m unwritten. Egyptian writes the name mkj (Ranke I, 166.12–13), once for a ruler from Qedem in Sinuhe B 219, which TLA renders Meki⟨m⟩, a Semitic royal title. Rival: the Egyptian name mkj. One attestation.
