Commentary
HT 116a: SI+SE GRA 16, OLE+KI 1, OLE+MI 6, OLIV 3, a recipient among KU-PA-JA, PU-RA₂, PI-*34-TE, SI-KI-NE and QA-NU-MA. HT 42+59: ]-TA · SI+SE · TE · OLE+KI 8, OLE+U 7, beside SA-RO. HT 99b: SI+SE FIC 6, AB30 read as the fig logogram (SigLA). Read in sign order, ṣi-ṣe: Ug. ṣṣ ‘salt-works’, listed by owner (KTU 4.340; DULAT 781), the WSem. ṣēṣūma ‘salt marsh’ of Ras Shamra, spelled ṣi-e-ṣi-ma (CAD Ṣ 150). SI writes ṣ as in SI-DA-TE ṣēdat. The salt-works draws rations beside QA-NU-MA qanūma ‘reeds’. Rivals: Šipšu, the Sun-deity, Ebla sí-piš (Lipiński 1997, 113, 118; #1407), with the coda p unwritten; a syllabic še, as in SI+SE-RA+KA (HT Wa 1021). Three attestations.
