Commentary
KH 5 .3 WI-NA-DU · *301̣-NA ·, the head of the second section, over KU-PA-ZU CYP 3 and figs 2, as A-DA-KI-SI-KA · A-RA-U-DA · heads the first; intact, no dots (GORILA III 25). An entity slot in a transfer (Hogan, in Salgarella and Petrakis, The Wor(l)ds of Linear A, 81). Linear B wi-na-to, a place on KN As 604.2–3 in the slot of ra-su-to and pu-so: *Ϝίνατος, Ἴνατος on the south coast, modern Tsoúdsouro (DMic II 432). DU for the t of -to, stops unmarked for voice. Younger rejects the identification, Inatos lying too far for Khania to have controlled it, and notes dedications in its Eileithyia cave from the Neopalatial period on (Younger, Linear A Texts); A-RA-U-DA, Arwad, stands on the same tablet. Rival: wi + Nadūb, the Amorite name NA-DU-BU-UM (Gelb 1980, no. 4956), with WI a conjunction and b unwritten. Place before party, as in A-RA-JU-U-DE-ZA, Ḥudaṯu of ʾArāyu (HT 122b); the first head runs party then origin, A-DA-KI-SI-KA of Arwad. One attestation.
