Commentary
HT 25a .3–4 TU-QE-NU / ZU-JU-PU₂ 1, the layout of .4–5 DU-RU-WI / I-KI-RA 1: a name at the line end, then the trade and one unit (GORILA I 44–45). ṯu-lu-pu sign for sign: ZU writes ṯu, JU lu, PU₂ pu, *ṯulp- ‘reed flute’. Ugaritic ṯlb ‘flute’, beside knr, tp and mṣltm (KTU 1.108:4; DULAT 892). Akk. šulpu ‘a flute or other reed instrument’ and ša šulpi ‘a reed-instrument player’, listed after ša malilim and ša enbūbim (OB Lu A 244) and written after a name, PN ša šu-ul-pi (MDP 22 21 r. 10) (CAD Š/3 256–57). GORILA’s tabular copy dots ZU and PU₂, and the left margin beside ZU is abraded. Rival: the Hurrian name tlby, tu-ul-bi-ia (DULAT 856), which needs ZU = tu. One witness.
