Commentary
HT Wc 3010, a roundel: *333-DI-NA-SU-KA alone. With *333 = bi, bīdi ‘in the charge of’: Ug. bd ‘into the hands of, (intended) for’, from b (y)d (DULAT 211), the custody preposition of administrative receipts. Našūka ‘the Bitten one’, qatūl of √n-š-k ‘bite’, as Hebrew nāšak of the snake (Gen 49:17; HALOT 729); cf. the serpent names Naḥash (1 Sam 11:1) and Naḥshon. Pair of HT Wc 3009 *333-DI-SU-KA: the same frame, another name. -KA the diptote genitive -a of a proper name, as Ugaritic ugrt /ʾugarita/ (Huehnergard 2012, 40). Weak point: *333 = bi rests on its three words. Rival: the whole group a personal name. One attestation. See PA₃.
