Commentary
HT 115a .1 *47-NU-RA-JA · I · GRA+BOSm, whole and undotted, the first entry of a palimpsest (GORILA I 189); HT 115b repeats the frame with TI-NU-JA, a person. NU-RA-JA is nūr-aya, as Ugaritic nu-ri-ia beside nu-ri-ia-nu (DULAT 634). With *47 = so: šū ‘he’, as Ebla su-nu-ri₂ šū-nūrī ‘He is my light’ (Pagan 1998, row 4282); SO for šū is a vowel mismatch only. Rival: with *47 = mo, mənōrā ‘lampstand’ (Ug. mnrt, DULAT 558) + -aya. One witness. See NU-RO, *301-U-RA and JA-I-NWA-RO.
