Commentary
An administrative logogram, a transaction sign on HT 118 (SigLA). Ten occurrences at Haghia Triada, Khania and Zakros: nine stand alone, several head quantified entries, and two are on sealed Khania roundels. SI-*516 reads as an s-onset phonetic complement, the ground for Ugaritic spr ‘tablet, register’ and Heb. sēper/sōpēr. Weak point: no full phonetic spelling is attested.
