Commentary
HT 28b and HT 116a: an allocation heading. Gordon’s Baʿl/Bōl, with the proposed values PU = bV and RA₂ = l and the ʿayin lost. Ebla has bare ba-lu, ba₄-lum ‘lord’ as personal names (Pagan 1998, rows 1110, 1153). ZA 6a ]PU₂-RA₂ GRA+PA 20 is a candidate for the same name at Zakros, with PU₂ = bu, in the same name-with-grain slot; the line is broken before PU₂, so the word can be longer. RA₂ = l stands without this word: SA-RA₂ šarra writes the marked liquid, as Linear B ra₂ /rya, lya/ (Judson 2020, 72, 74), and KN 54 writes PU-RA with plain RA. Two attestations.
