Commentary
More exactly PU-*131A. PU as the onset of pûrâ, VIN as its classifier, as ME VIN mesek. HT 123+124a: PU-*131A · OLIV 31½, *308 8¾, KI-RO, the second of four parties beside KI-TA-I gittī ‘of the press’, SA-RU and DA-TU; each returns pressed oil at about a quarter of its olives, so the parties are pressing units, and gat and pûrâ are the pair of Isa 63:2–3. HT 14: PU-VIN · TE · GRA 30, two oils, *304, OLIV, beside A-PU₂-NA-DU; PU is written over an erased sign (GORILA I 29). Rival: Ug. pwt ‘madder’ (DULAT 678), Heb. PN Puwwāh (Gen 46:13), with VIN for wa as VIN+WA on HT 27b.
