Commentary
Context: LMIB dedicatory inscription on a clay pithos. Contains libation formula in Zakros dialect (-DE-KA variant) + Egyptian theophoric personal name + libation verb.
Dedicatory inscription: commodity (VIN 32) + dedicant (Egyptian PN) + deity (Eshmun) + title (ʾāsē ‘physician’) + Zakros libation formula √ʿ-n-y + Eshmun epithet (compound √r-p-ʾ + √r-n-n) + closing TI-TI-KU ‘may it be poured’ (√n-t-k). The -DE-KA libation variant is unique to Zakros, establishing a 5th dialectal form. A-RE-PI-RE-NA is a compound divine epithet rather than a hapax PN, given its thematic convergence with Eshmun and the rpʾ/rnn liturgical dyad (Psalm 30:3-6).
