Commentary

GRA with the adjunct QE on four Haghia Triada tablets, in dry-measure quantities beside OLE+KI, OLE+MI, VIN and plain GRA: HT 18 PA-SE GRA+QE 20, HT 28a JA-*21F · GRA+QE 5, HT 101 ZU-*22F-DI GRA+QE 40, HT 99a GRA+QE without a number. HT 36 heads JE-DI *307+*307-GRA+QE 44½ (20 erased from 64½), flour issued under the *307 dubur ‘sanctuary’ sign, with DU-ZU-WA 7½. QE writes the first syllable of Akk. qēmu(m) ‘flour, meal’ (CAD Q 204), Heb. קֶמַח qemaḥ ‘flour’ (Gen 18:6; Num 5:15), Ug. qmḥ (KTU 1.14 II 29). GRA+QE is a processed subtype, distinct from plain GRA, whole grain.
