Commentary

HT 86a, intact: QA-RA₂-WA 10, where HT 95a/b write QE-RA₂-U (qelwu ‘parched grain’) in the same set (KU-NI-SU, SA-RU, DI-DE-RU, DA-ME, MI-NU-TE). With RA₂ = /la/, √q-l-w ‘roast’: Geʿez qalawa, Heb. qālî (Lev 23:14; Ruth 2:14), Aram. qəlā. Rival: Ugaritic qrwn ‘offering’ (DULAT 703; KTU 1.127:10–11), with RA₂ = /ra/ and final n unwritten. Cf. LB qa-ra₂-wo, a personal name (KN Ce 50; DMic II). One attestation.
