Commentary

HT 10a U-*325-ZA 4 and U-*325-ZA 14, two issues; HT 85a U-*325-ZA 6 among the men under A-DU, beside DA-RI-DA and DA-RE, the pattern of a standing unit. With *325 read bu, and PS *s = [ts] taking the Z-series, ʾubūs(a) ‘the stall, storehouse’: Akk. abūsu ‘storehouse’, plural abūsātu and ubsātu (CAD A/1 92); the U-/A- onset against A-*325-ZA (PE 2) matches ubsātu beside abūsātu. At Ras Shamra a bēl abūsi ‘overseer of the storehouse’ receives goods (RS 17.382+:45; CAD A/1 93). Rival: *325 = /ḫu/, ʾuḫuzza(t) ‘holding’ (Heb. ʾăḥuzzâ, HALOT 32), with ZA for PS *ḏ. Two attestations. See A-*325-ZA.
