Commentary

ARKH 5 A-DU-NI-TA-NA 41, before A-DA-RO GRA 40 and *131B 6: a named recipient and its quantity, in the Arkhanes ration format of ARKH 2 and ARKH 3a, which also list *131B must. A-DU, Addu the storm god, + NI-TA-NA nittāna, N-stem perfect of √n-t-n ‘to give’, from *nintan: ‘given by Addu’. Both elements stand elsewhere: A-DU heads the HT 88 register and detaches as a theophoric prefix on ZA 10a (A-DU-KU-MI-NA beside A-KU-MI-NA), and √n-t-n underlies NA-TU-*301-NE (SKO Zc 1). Names of god and verb: Akk. Adad-iddinam and Iddin-Dagan, of the type DN-iddin(am) (CAD N/1 49), Mari Yantin-Addu (ARM 26/1, 602), Amorite Yantin-Haddu (Gelb 1980, nos. 2990, 2992). Weak point: West Semitic Adda-natan (SAA 14 014) has the G perfect natan, which the NI- spelling does not fit. One attestation.
