Commentary

CR Zg 4: I-DA-DA, with A-RO-TE on line 2. Cf. Ugaritic dd ‘love’, by metonymy ‘loved one’ (DULAT 262), ydd ‘loved’ (DULAT 943); Amorite dad- ‘favorite’ (Huffmon 1965, 181). I- is the prosthetic vowel of I-DA-MA-TE beside DA-MA-TE. Rival: a personal name. See TA-DI and DU-DA-MA.
