Commentary

HT Wc 3008 face b, four signs whole with no divider, opposite WA · DI-NI (GORILA II 74): Ruya, the Ugaritic PN rwy (DULAT 738), with dādī ‘my beloved’ (TA-DI), TA writing d as in ta-di-e for ddy (DULAT 264). Ruya stands alone on the roundel KN Wc 26, face a, with NI-PI on face b (GORILA II 85). Ruya is |r-w-y| ‘to be well watered’, with Amorite ia-ar-wi-um and ru₂-ya |rôya / rūya| in an Egyptian place name (GlOS 2, 178). Rival: two names, RU-JA and TA-DI.
