Commentary

OLE with the KI adjunct marks an oil subtype, 21 tokens on 17 documents at Haghia Triada, Tylissos and Zakros. kīnu ‘true, standard’: Akk. kīnu ‘true, reliable, correct, normal, legitimate’ (CAD K 389), Heb. kēn ‘correct, right’ (HALOT 482). Cf. KI-NU (ARKH 3a), read Kīnu, the full word or a personal name. Weak point: no Semitic text names a ‘genuine’ oil.
