Commentary

Four Haghia Triada lists: HT 7a TA-NA-TI 1, among the men under QE-TI · VIR+[?]; HT 10b TA-NA-TI 9¼, the last entry; HT 49a ]TA-NA-TI 1, in a list with KU-PA₃-NU and TU-SU-PU₂; HT 98a TA-NA-TI ¾, among fractional issues with RO-KE and KA-RI-*310-I. Tanāti, the goddess TNT with the a-vowels against Punic Tinnit: the feminine of √t-n-n, Heb. tannîn, Tannin ‘sea-monster, sea-dragon’, Ug. tnn (HALOT 1764). Rival: ʿAnat with the feminine prefix t-, *t(a)-ʿanât > *teʿnât > *tennât (Hvidberg-Hansen 1979, 140, who takes the prefix as Libyco-Berber). TA-NA-TE is the Zakros form. See TA-NA-TE.
