Commentary

Two complete witnesses: HT 49a .8 TU 4 (GORILA I 93) and KH 91 .3 TU ¹⁄₁₆ (V 45). The fraction on KH 91 marks a measured commodity, not a person. Every other TU is broken or dotted: HT 55a ]TU 1[ (I 107), HT 79+83 ]TU-[·] 3 (I 127), HT 98a ]TU 1 (I 161), HT 126b ]TU 6 (I 217), KH 2 TU-[ (III 23), KH 51 TU[ (III 75), KH 57 ]TU[ (III 79), ZA 12b ]TỤ[ (III 177), PH(?) 31b TU-[ (I 319). TU is the first syllable of ṯawr ‘bull’, √ṯ-w-r, writing ṯu as ZU does: Ug. ṯwr /ṯōru/ < *ṯawru ‘bull’ (Huehnergard 2012, 42), BH šōr ‘bull, ox’, with ṯ > š. See I-ZU-RI-NI-TA.
