Commentary
A recipient on three tablets: the HT 9a/9b wine roster (10, 8), the same roster on HT 122a (1[, with PA-DE and *324-DI-RA), and the HT 119 personnel count (2, before *327-JU 8 and KU-RO 160). *306 at the proposed value ʿa, and TU writes -tu with the geminate unwritten: ʿAttu, cf. Heb. ʿAttay (1 Chr 2:35), the short form of ʿĂtāyāh (Neh 11:4), Palm. f. ʿty, Greek Αθθαια, which writes the geminate (HALOT 903), and Pun. ʿTʾ (Benz 1972, 388). The name slot is secure. ʿĂtāyāh ‘Yahweh has shown himself as surpassing’, from Arb. ʿatā (Noth, apud HALOT 903), whose usual sense is ‘to be insolent, unruly’ (HALOT 903; Lane 1951). Weak point: *306 = ʿa is a proposed value. *306-TU-JA (HT 115b) is the same name with hypocoristic -ya. See *306-TU-JA.
