Commentary

HT 123+124b .5 DU-MA-I-NA ⅜, after SI-DU and before KU-RO 20, on a face written over an erasure; I underdotted, whole in the facsimile beside the break that crosses NA (GORILA I 212–213). DU ḏū ‘he of’, as in DU-ZU-WA and DU-RU-WI; MA-I-NA maʿīna, the ʿ unwritten, I for ī, as Syriac meʿīnā. A recipient named for his spring, as the ḏāti … maʿīn of Q 23:50. Rival: a product, ‘(the drink) of the spring’, after TU-PA-DI-DA. Weak points: I is dotted; Arabic maʿīn and Syriac meʿīnā are late. One attestation. Cf. DU-ZU-WA.
