Commentary

HT 127a .2 DU-NE-MI 1̣[, all three signs whole and undotted at the head of the line, after .1 vest.[, where GORILA’s tabular copy sets ] before the word; one man, beside *304+PA-DA-*47-KU 1 (GORILA I 219). DU ḏū ‘he of’, as in DU-ZU-WA and DU-MA-I-NA; NE-MI naʿmi, the genitive after ḏū, the ʿ unwritten and its a coloured e, as Amorite NA-AḪ-MI, NA-AḪ-ME-ᵈDA-GAN and NA-MI-ᵈDA-GAN (Gelb 1980, nos. 4893, 4892, 4999). Sabaic has ḏ-Nʿmn ‘he of Nʿmn’ as a by-name (Ja 331; CIH 117). Weak point: no Bronze Age ḏū name on nʿm. One attestation. Cf. TA-NA-MA-JE.
