Commentary
TY 3a .6 KO-A-DU-WA [OLE] 7⅕, the four signs whole at the head of the line, the second entry under Ạ-DA OLE+U 21; it takes plain oil where the section’s other lines are grades (GORILA I 327). KO is qō, as in KO-JA Qōya (√q-w-y ‘await, hope’); A-DU is Addu, as cuneiform writes it second in LA-AḪ-WI-A-DU (Gelb AS 21, no. 4216); Ugaritic has the bare name qwy ‘Awaited’ (Watson 2012, 336). -DU-WA writes the glide before a final -a, as A-SU-PU-WA and Amorite AM-MU-WA-DA (Gelb AS 21, no. 773): either the god’s other name, Hadda, which alternates with Haddu in IŠ-MA-A-DA and IŠ-MA-ᴰ-IM (nos. 3808, 3810), or a feminine -a(t), as Amorite Baʿlah and ʿAštarah, though no feminine of Addu is attested. Rival: an Anatolian name in Kuwa- (Kuwattalla). One attestation.
